Please note that many of our weekend courses are also suitable for beginners. We run beginners courses on Tuesday and wednesday evenings (7.00 - 9.00) which are run as ten week terms, and, new, Thursday afternoons (2.00 - 4.00) which are run on a weekly basis for as many weeks as you like. No artistic skills neccessary. We have been running these courses for twelve years and still take pride in the work our students produce in a fairly short length of time. You will be taught how to cut glass, apply copper foil and lead came, solder and finish two small projects in the first few weeks. You can then move on and, with some discussion and planning, you are free to take on something of your own choice. This can be made from one of hundreds of patterns available or you could draw up your own idea. Your tutor will help with any problems you may have. Many of our beginners keep coming and make some quite exceptional pieces, others decide to gain qualifications through our suite of City and Guilds courses each of which is a qualification in it's own right. You will need to purchase a glass cutter on the second week of the course and a small charge will be made for materials to enable you to make your initial two projects. Please don't buy anything until you've spoken to your Tutor. Materials for any other projects made are available from the studio. Christmas workshop. Have a day in the Studio learning how to make Christmas decorations. You'll go home with something your Christmas tree will be proud to wear. Select a design, choose some glass and make your Christmas decoration with our expert help. Saturday December 4th 1.00 - 5.00 £60.00 includind materials and a couple of mince pies!
